Caught 54 at a little job in Blackburn Hamlet.

Rescue 53. Rumor has that this rig is heading to station 93 in Greely. It's my understanding that this truck is too small for R53's purposes. Maybe the city should order one for 82 while they are at it.

Running out of station 51 in Ottawa's Urban east end.

Stationed at the former Gloucester station 1, at Blair Rd and Innis Rd.

This picture was taken a few years ago, before the crew of Rescue 12 added a few things to give the rig and company some distinction within the fleet. The other rescue's could certainly use some updated graphics. Little pride goes along way. The back ground is Tech Rescue 12.

Taking a drive through the Byward market. Ladder 24's 2002 E-One quint. These rigs have the "A - frame" style out-riggers as instead of the more common "H-frame". That are found on many ladder trucks, including OFS's newest ladders and tower ladder rigs. Many operators have told me they prefer the A - frame for faster set-up.

Stationed at 23, the Safety Officer will respond to most "working" calls, example would be; working structure fire, water/technical rescue or a haz call. The safety officer is equivalent in rank to a Captain.

This is the horsemen's CBRN rig, one of several in the city. Very discreet.

This was taken on Mountbattan Ave. after a small house fire. The rig seen is a Salisbury pumper, purchased as a demo. It began with OFD as 3B pump, then ended up at 35, 53 and now it's a training pump.

2008 RK tower ladder stationed at 91, in Metcalf, ON in southern Ottawa. This rig will be in service mid January 2009. It will bring a great deal of versatility to the members of station 91. I expect this rig will be a huge hit at silo fires.

Pumper 53's HME, the former P13A.

Ladder 21 was relocated to station 24. The rig is a 2002 E-One "quint", running around the city's west central. This picture was taken at a kitchen fire on Rosenthal st. off Merval.

2008 Spartan RK ladder is now running out of station 42.

This picture was taken a few years ago at the scene of an MVC near the city limit. 84 is found just south of village of Corkery. They run the pumper tanker, support van and a brush truck.

At the north end of the Airport Parkway, on the corner of Brookfield and Riverside Dr. is the home of rescue pumper 34.

One of the many HME's in the OFS fleet.

Ottawa has traditionally run a rescue from the Glebe. The current station 12, the former Ottawa FD station 10. The city of Nepean kept a rescue in Barr Haven, station 44, formerly NFD station 3. I recall talk at one time of Nepean moving the rescue to station 4, or the current station 25.
These two rigs run a second piece, a technical rescue van.

Stationed in Blackburn Hamlet

The shop number indicates that this pumper was the first purchased of the HME/Fort Garry batch. This rig started as P13B, and then made it's way into south east Ottawa as P31. Station 31 is located on Conroy Rd. a few blocks north of Hunt Club.

The former Kanata Station 3, Eagleson Rd. Station 41 is also home to a Pumper-Tanker.

Running from Tenth Line and Innis.

It was cold and damp, the air was smokey and sounds of chain saws was ringing clear. OFS had three aerial ladders up, many crews opening up. L11, L24 and L22 were in operation. First due was P23 and P21. Other rigs on scene; P11, P11B, P34, P55, R12, and ReHab 54. There was a mid-mount ladder on scene, and I am sure several more rigs further west on Woodward Dr. This also included several Chiefs and Safety 23.
The pictures are not great, my hands were shaking and the light was limited.

Little Italy or China Town is home to station 11. Considered second busiest hall in the fine city of Ottawa. Eleven runs two pumps, ladder, district chief (Car 10) and a Water Rescue. The mighty Ladder 11 is a 109 foot RK Ladder, with a pump.

One of the fleets older pumps, this Pemfab runs out of the new hall outside the village of Vars. If you take Hwy 417 east and exit at Vars, turn left. Station 73 is on the left just a short jont north of the Hwy.
